Farming in Protected Landscapes programme 3-year extension
Farmers and land managers in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape can now apply for funding from the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme until March 2029.
This anouncement was made at the Secretary of State’s speech at the Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) on 8th January.
Farming in Protected Landscapes is a Defra funding programme which is open to farmers and land managers (including from the private, public and charity sector) with land within protected landscapes (National Parks & Natuonal Landscapes) in England.
The grants are for projects which are:
- helping to tackle the impacts of CLIMATE change
- helping NATURE recovery
- providing opportunities for PEOPLE to discover, enjoy and understand the landscape and its cultural heritage
- protecting or improving the quality and character of a PLACE
We are awaiting confirmation of our funding allocation for the Shropshire Hills and updated guidance from Defra about how the programme is to be administered over the next three years.
If you have a FiPL project idea which you would like to discuss with us please contact our FiPL Administrator Jenny Wakeman, with a brief outline of your idea and your contact details. Jenny will pass this on to one of our FiPL Advisers.
