The Long Mynd & Stiperstones Shuttle Bus starts this weekend, Saturday 9th May 2026

The much-loved Long Mynd & Stiperstones Shuttle will be hitting the road this weekend, Saturday 9th May.

This 16-seater bus starts in Carding Mill Valley and travels into Church Stretton, collecting passengers at Beaumont Road before heading up onto the Long Mynd. The views from the top take you breathe away.

The service is managed by the Shropshire Hills National Landscape Team, and their Sustainable Tourism officer, Nigel McDonald explains “We’re biased, but the Shuttle Bus has to be one of the most scenic bus journeys in the country!  The views as you journey over the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones, the heart of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape are simple stunning, especially when the heather is in full bloom.”

From the Long Mynd, the Shuttle heads to Bridges stopping outside the popular country pub, and onto the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve, and the Bog Mine and Visitor Centre.  The Shuttle Bus continues to Stiperstones village, passes the popular Stiperstones Inn, and turns around at Snailbeach Lead Mine & Heritage Site to retrace the route.

Ticket prices start from £2 for a single. Day Rover Tickets £7.00. Tickets are purchased on the bus and payment is either contactless or cash. Printed timetables are available from the usual places including Hough & Sons Butchers on Beaumont Road, Church Stretton Visitor Information Centre, the Bog Visitor Centre and Carding Mill Valley.

Please note the Bog Visitor Centre’s shorter opening times when planning your trip.

The Shuttle Bus runs every Saturday and Sunday to 27th September.  The Shropshire Hills National Landscape Team manage this weekend service and are working with a new bus operator, Lakeside Coaches.  Funding for the Shuttle comes from Shropshire Council, Church Stretton Town Council, Visit Shropshire Hills and National Trust.
