Young Rangers empowers young people (12–16) to discover the outdoors, build leadership skills, and protect nature.

Through hands-on conservation projects in the Shropshire Hills, participants gain unforgettable experiences in exploration, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.

Curlew Country and Stapeley Hill Stomp

Sat 20th June, 10:00am-2:30pm

Stapeley Common

 This week we'll be visiting one of the most important conservation projects in our area - Curlew Country - campaigning and protecting Eurasian Curlew, a nationally threatened species which breed each year in our uplands.

Blakemoregate Open Day

Sunday 5th July, 10:30am-2:30pm

Snailbeach-Stiperstones

Hike up to the Stiperstones to the miners cottages at Blakemoregate for a peek inside these historic upland dwellings.

Along the way, we'll carry out some footpath work to help improve waymarking and signage along the Miner's Walk, a promoted route which leads from Snailbeach to Stipertones.

 

 

Love Your Magnificent Severn

Crew Green - Montford Bridge

Whether you're a newbie or a pro, this canoe safari is all about fun, nature, spending quality time with friends, and building skills and confidence on open water.

Launching from Crew Green and paddling downriver to the finish point at Montford Bridge, the paddle takes us along a glorious stretch of the River Severn - a stretch of about 10 miles.

 

Dig into History @ Clun Castle

Saturday 25th July, 10:30am-2:30pm

Clun Castle

For this session, we’ll be heading out to a local community event to explore the amazing medieval ruins of Clun Castle.

You’ll get the chance to take part in a hands‑on conservation activity, wander around the castle and, as a special event, try your hand at stone masonry.
