Looking after this special landscape is a responsibility that many organisations and people share.
There is no single ‘organisation’ for the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, but the local authorities have the main legal duties and lead the partnership working arrangements.
The staff team is supported by a structure of groups with complementary roles, all working together for the benefit of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape:
Key Delivery Partner Liaison- co-ordinate to help deliver the 5 year Plan ‘Thriving in Balance with Nature’.
Advisory Committee - provides oversight of the Team’s work and advises the Councils.
We are currently recruiting for vacancies on this committee – if you are interested please get in touch.
Shropshire Hills Landscape Trust – a registered charity raising and distributing funds.
Shropshire Hills Forum - an informal ‘umbrella’ group for all these elements, bringing together anyone with an interest in the Shropshire Hills.
Friends of the Shropshire Hills and Business Supporters - monthly subscriptions go directly into the Shropshire Hills Conservation Fund to support community conservation projects.
National Landscapes Association and other networks - the team are also part of wider networks.
