Looking after this special landscape is a shared responsibility.
We bring together landowners, the local community, other organisations, businesses and individuals to deliver the Shropshire Hills Management Plan. The Plan represents a shared vision for the future of the landscape.
The many strands to the Shropshire Hills National Landscape include:
Shropshire Hills National Landscape Team - small team employed by Shropshire Council, and funded by central government, the Councils and other partners. The team does not manage any land directly, and works largely through partnership and influencing.
Key Delivery Partner Liaison- co-ordinate to help deliver the 5 year Plan ‘Thriving in Balance with Nature’.
Advisory Committee - provides oversight of the Team’s work and advises the Councils.
We are currently recruiting for vacancies on this committee – if you are interested please get in touch.
Shropshire Hills Landscape Trust – a registered charity raising and distributing funds.
Shropshire Hill Forum - an informal ‘umbrella’ group for all these elements, bringing together anyone with an interest in the Shropshire Hills.
Friends of the Shropshire Hills and Business Supporters - monthly subscriptions go directly into the Shropshire Hills Conservation Fund to support community conservation projects.
National Landscapes Family and other networks - the team are also part of wider networks.
