Biking for a bursary
Supporting the sharing of experience on protected landscapes between the UK and France.
In the first two weeks of September, Phil Holden from the Shropshire Hills National Landscape Team is cycling over 1,000 miles across France from Saint-Malo to Nice. As well as passing through 14 Parcs Naturels Régionaux (roughly equivalent to our National Landscapes) and meeting some of their teams, he is fundraising to create an international study visit bursary for a young professional employed in a protected landscape in the UK or France.
Inspired by hosting earlier visits under the EUROPARC Federation’s youth scholarship programme which has now been scaled back due to loss of funding, Phil has already raised £1,000, and is now aiming at £2,000 to enable two bursaries to be awarded. EUROPARC Atlantic Isles as a registered charity is holding the funds and administering the bursary. Any donations will be very gratefully received and can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/page/phil-holden-1, where there is also further information.
The bursary is open for applications until 31st October, details at EUROPARC Atlantic Isles » 2026 UK-France study visit bursary.
