Work Party, Woods for Wood White
Learn how Forestry England is working with Butterfly Conservation and Shropshire Hills National Landscape to create habitat for the nationally significant species at Bury Ditches, Iron-Age Hillfort.
What we’ll be doing:
• Raking back and removing cut grass and vegetation from recently mown areas
• Removal of gorse, bramble, and other vegetation from roadside edges
• Using debris for habitat piles for other woodland and invertebrate species.
No prior knowledge or experience of practical conservation needed, but activities may be physically strenuous. All tools and materials will be provided. A welfare van will be on site for the duration of the activity for volunteer use.
