Bat Walk at High Leasowes Meadows 1

Join members of the High Leasowes Trust on a leisurely bat walk around the historic High Leasowes Meadows.  Discover the species of bat, using a hand-held bat detector to hear the high-frequency clicks of bats using echo-location, and watch them fly as they forage for food.

This is the first in a series of 5 bat walks (one each month) being held at High Leasowes Meadows.

The High Leasowes Trust, registered charity no 1207101, was established to look after High Leasowes, Church Stretton, with support from the community. The 16.5 acre site has ancient hedgerows, organic flower-rich meadows, a new pond, scrub and some lovely old trees.

The bat detectors were purchased with a grant from the Shropshire Hills Conservation Fund, which is administered by the Shropshire Hills Landscape Trust.

Event starts at 8:00pm.
