Workshop - Thriving Shropshire Hills in a Liveable World

Stepping up our response for climate and nature

A full day event of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape Forum. This will be a highly participatory workshop, aimed at people who are motivated to take action for climate and nature, either through their work or community roles.

Challenges/Opportunities 

• How we adapt - to changing climate and more extreme weather, while also reducing emissions to prevent climate breakdown.
• How we improve the resilience of meeting human needs, while also regenerating the long-term ability of the natural world to support us, and all life.
• How we work together better, and include all parts of our communities.
• Local focus, but with a planetary mindset.
• Ways to follow on and harness energy from the People's Emergency Briefing.
• Using science and evidence, but also arts, creativity and our emotions.
• Tapping into the agency that people have to act, through all their roles in society.
• Finding joy, hope and purpose in the natural world, and in our connections and actions.
   

The emphasis will be on collaboration and interconnection - of issues and our responses.

The event is free to attend, but there will be a modest charge for lunch.

The workshop outputs will feed into plans and projects in the Shropshire Hills by National Landscape partners. It also aims to boost current and potential activity across any networks that participants are involved in.
