Open Meadows Day in the Shropshire Hills

Visit and explore our beautiful meadows in celebration of National Meadows Day.

Enjoy a delightful day exploring the beautiful meadows that Marches Meadow Group members have opened for you to enjoy on National Meadows Day.

Many of the meadows are well established, but others are a work-in-progress as members try to create new meadows or restore old ones. Most of the meadows are in southwest Shropshire, but there is one in north Shropshire and one in Powys.

Open Meadow Day allows you to explore the beauty of these meadows and learn how they were created and are managed for their wildlife. There are over twenty sites you could visit, some with several meadows, and your ticket will allow entry to all of these (although you are unlikely to manage them all in one day!).

Full details and locations will be emailed out nearer the time. Some sites can be reached by the Shropshire Hills Shuttle Bus, but most will need your own transport and advice on this and parking arrangements for each site will be provided with the other information.

Charge to non-members £5.00, Marches Meadow Group members free. All proceeds will go to the Marches Meadow Group and its work restoring species-rich hay meadows.

Event starts at 10:00am.
